The Crafters' Way 67 - Boredom Busters

I write a weekly craft column for a local paper. I share it here with bloggers or you canview online at http://www.northlakesmessenger.com.au/

Boredom Busters

School Holiday activities that are interesting and fun for both child and parent can be hard to find. The Pine Rivers Regional Art Gallery has you covered.

Bugs and Beyond: This activity will have you drawing from nature by drawing a real insect. Under the expert guidance of Walter Stahl you will take your insect drawing to a higher level. Turn it into a tribal mask, a tattoo design, or an alien. Cost: $15

Beaded Animals and Insects: Make animals and insects using wire and colourful beads. Students will learn the basics of wire with Tracey Wallace. Tracey has been making jewelry for over 30 years and regularly exhibits at the gallery. Cost $15

Origami Club: Parents must accompany their children for this activity. It’s a free activity, paper can be purchased at the gallery or children may supply their own.

For further information about dates, times and ages please phone the Pine Rivers Regional Art Gallery on (07) 3480 6941

Artisan is holding another of their inspiring ‘Pink Breakfast’ in support of the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Enjoy a delicious breakfast while viewing the Fashions Off the Field. In addition to the latest dresses you will also see stunning millinery designs from Svenja, Suzie Rodgers and Alexandra Harper. I’m sure you will get heaps of inspiration for your own Melbourne Cup outfit.
Date: 21st October
Place: Artisan, 381 Brunswick St, Fortitude Valley
