I'm heading down the coast tomorrow for a couple of days to enjoy the Indy Carnival. Alan and I have gone just for the day a couple of times and have always had a ball. This year we decided to go for the entire week. If the weather stays the same as the last couple of days it wil be beautiful.

I've been trying to finish off a couple of projects before I go. The hessian bag has been stitched, however I haven't been able to find the 'right' gold thread to interweave through the colours. All the other threads are my hand dyed ones. It will have to wait until I return.

The first photo shows the painted background, the second shows the same area completely stitched. The third photo shows the whole area. (Good news! I've got a new camera and by the time I get back I should have figured out how to use it properly and the quality of the photos should improve).

I did manage to finish some braids that I have been working on. I bought a clip on pendant that I can wear on a variety of braids. It looks quite different depending on which braids I attach it to. I can wear it on a braid made from shiny fibres and it can look very dressy. If it's attached to a textured braid it looks completely different again.
