More Braiding

Yesterday I went and collected the braid that I had entered into the Medieval Art Exhibition.. The exhibition was held in conjuction with the Abbey Musuem's Medieval Festival. Organisers were very happy with the response and plan to make it a yearly event.

This is the barid I entered. I didn't dye the red silk, I received it as a sample and thought I would you use it. The lemon and watermelon silk in the thinner braid are part of my hand dyed thread range.

Both braids are simple 8 Bobbin flat braids. I braided the thin braid first then interwove it as I was braiding the red silk. The red silk had a beautiful feel however it did have a tendency to pile a little.

I finshed the end with a simple bolivian pompom.
