Today was our monthly Date Day. To anyone not in the know Date Day is a tradition Alan and I introduced when we started the business. We didn't want to become one of these couple who never had anything to say to each other except ' the business'. We take turns deciding what we will do or where we will go. We are not allowed to discuss business planning, financials, insurance, anything business related.
The funny thing is how quickly Family and Friends got with the program. They understand that Date Day is sacred and once the Day has been decided we don't change it for anything.
Today we caught a bus to Scarborough, 3 suburbs away. This is the view from here looking toward Moreton Island. Date Day is not about being extravagant its about spending time together.
We had coffee at Scarborough then walked to Redcliffe. This is the view at the end of the Redcliffe Jetty.
And here is the view from the top of Redcliffe Point, looking toward Fisherman Island.
And just to prove that Alan is not a figment of my imagination.

What a lovely idea. I know what it's like to get caught up in your business, and to have just one day free of business discussions is something to be applauded. Your trip to Scarborough looks wonderful. Good to see that Alan is a real person!
Your day sounds wonderful Trish. And what an absolutely wonderful idea!!! Matt and I try to just have any sort of 'date' whenever possible (sometimes a movie, sometimes lunch, or dinner) but sadly it's more like a biannual event rather than a monthly one. Maybe when the kids are a bit bigger....:P
awesome idea Trish good on you!
Trish this is such a lovely idea, waving hello to you both in Scarborough ~ hard to believe I was there last week ~ back home now in very chilly Scotland. It was lovely to meet you ~ Judy x
I was wondering why you caught the bus until you said you walked back to Redcliffe.....and what an 'arty' outfit young Alan has on there......a great date day!
Kiss Noises Linda
