The Ipswich Arts Council invites you to the Rockton Artists Bazaar on the 19th October 9.30am – 3pm. This annual event is held under the beautiful Jacarandas of ‘Rockton’ heritage residence. Stalls feature quality original artwork across all mediums; paintings, prints, jewellery, woodcrafts, baskets, tin ware and textiles. Throughout the day there will be craft demonstrations and artists portrait sketching.
The Ipswich Arts Council is also interested in hearing from artists interested in participating in the Bazaar. They welcome: Artists to sell their own work commission free, Buskers to perform and entertain and Groups to sell arts, crafts and artistic treasures. For more information ph Mieke 3814 3761
Now for anybody interested Asian textile this event is for you. On Saturday October 18 the Queensland Branch of the Asian Arts Society of Australia (TAASA) is holding a afternoon tea and talk. Gill Green, TAASA Vice-President will give an illustrated presentation on a newly-revealed cache of antique pictorial silk textiles from the collection of the National Museum of Cambodia, Phnom Penh. There is no charge however a contribution of $5.00 towards afternoon tea will be requested. Dust off your comfy shoes, grab you largest shopping bag and head off to the Craft Fair. Expertise Events is again holding its Brisbane Fair at the Brisbane Exhibition Centre at South Bank from October 22-26. For information on Classes and Workshop visit their website at www.craftfair.com.au
